A minimally invasive solution for blocked arteries. We use advanced catheter technology to open blood vessels and restore circulation without the need for major open surgery.
Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA) is a sophisticated medical procedure designed to improve blood flow in arteries and veins that are narrowed or blocked by plaque.
Instead of surgically opening the limb or body part, we navigate through the blood vessels themselves using imaging guidance. It is the gold standard for treating Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
To widen narrowed arteries, relieve symptoms like leg pain (claudication), improve healing of wounds, and prevent tissue damage caused by poor circulation.
How We Open Blocked Vessels
A small, flexible plastic tube (catheter) is inserted through a tiny puncture in the skin, usually in the groin area. Using X-ray guidance, the doctor navigates this tube to the exact site of the blockage.
The catheter has a tiny "balloon" at its tip. When in place inside the narrowed artery, the balloon is gently inflated. This pressure pushes the plaque against the artery wall, widening the channel.
Once the vessel is open, the balloon is deflated and removed. Normal blood flow is restored to the limb or organ. In some cases, a small metal mesh tube (Stent) is left behind to keep the artery open.
Compared to traditional bypass surgery, PTA offers significant advantages for eligible patients.
